Iglesia de San Miguel (Andaluz, Soria)

            La villa soriana de Andaluz tiene un estratégico emplazamiento, a escasos metros del Duero y custodiando la profunda hoz labrada en la sierra por el río Andaluz.
La galería porticada de San Miguel de Andaluz representa un caso singular dentro del románico soriano. Lo excepcional es que, en este caso, se conserva la estructura porticada envolviendo los muros meridional y occidental de la nave
Aunque reformada en alguna de sus partes, la estructura actual consta de ocho arcos al sur –seis al oeste de la portada y dos al este– y dos arcos en el cierre occidental.
Las columnas alternan los cortos fustes simples con los
cuádruples, sobre basas de perfil ático. Los capiteles,
mayoritariamente vegetales, se decoran con hojas de palma
de acusadas nerviaciones, hojas lanceoladas y cóncavas acogiendo bolas, crochets, motivos de redecilla, botones, etc.
El capitel historiado del muro occidental representa a dos desproporcionados personajes asiendo las patas de sendos toscos cuadrúpedos.
