Marcianus Nicha = Marcianus victory, or victorious.

The auriga carries the palm branch of victory.  The lead horse, the best and most experienced horse, was on the inside of the charioteer’s left and often became as famous as the charioteers. His name here: Inluminator.

Surely, Marcianus won in the Merida´s circus, one of the longest of the Roman empire.

Used for chariot racing, it was modelled on the Circus Maximus in Rome and other circus buildings throughout the empire. Measuring more than 440 m in length and 115 m of width, it is one of the best preserved examples of the Roman circus.[ It could house up to 30,000 spectators.

El auriga porta la palma de la victoria. 
El caballo líder, el mejor y más experimentado de los cuatro, se situaba en la izquierda, y a menudo se hacía más famoso que los conductores. El líder en la cuádriga de Marciano: Inluminator.

Seguramente Marciano triunfó en el circo de Mérida, uno de los más grandes del Imperio romano.

Un enorme mosaico (unos 5 metros de ancho) usado como suelo de una casa suntuosa de Mérida.

DERECHA:
Seguramente Marciano ganó en el circo de Mérida (entre otros). Un enorme mosaico con su nombre adornando la casa de un hombre rico de Mérida, ciudad que tenía uno de los mayores circos del imperio... Parece muy razonable pensarlo.

El circo mide 440 metros de longitud, y 115 de anchura. Es uno de los circos romanos mejor conservados. Su capacidad rondaba los 30.000 espectadores.
