Milad Tower (Borj-e Milad, Persian: برج میلاد ) (Milad means Birth in Persian) is the tallest tower in Iran (Persia). Built in between the Shahrak-e Gharb and Gisha districts of Tehran, it stands 435 m (1,427 ft) high from base to tip of the antenna. The head consists of a large pod with 12 floors, the roof of which is at 315 m (1,033 ft). Below this is a staircase and elevators to reach the area.

Milad tower is the fourth tallest tower in the world after the CN Tower in Toronto, Ostankino Tower in Moscow, and the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. It is also currently the 12th tallest freestanding structure in the world.

Milad tower is part of The Tehran International Trade and Convention Center. The project includes the Milad telecommunication tower offering restaurants at the top with spectacular views of Tehran, a five-star hotel, a convention center, a world trade center, and an IT park. The complex seeks to respond to the needs of business in the globalized world of the 21st century by offering facilities combining trade, information, communication, convention, and accommodation all in one place.

The complex features a parking area of 27,000 square meters, a large computer and telecommunication unit, a cultural and scientific unit, a commercial transaction center, a temporary showroom for exhibiting products, a specialized library, an exhibition hall and an administrative unit. برج میلاد، میان تپه‌ای با مساحت تقریبی ۱۴ هکتار واقع در جنوب محله شهرک غرب و شمال کوی نصر در منطقه ۲ شهرداری تهران قرار دارد. از نظر مختصات جغرافیایی، سازه برج در ۵۱ درجه، ۲۲ دقیقه و ۳۲ ثانیه طول شرقی و ۳۵ درجه، ۴۴ دقیقه و ۴۰ ثانیه عرض شمالی قرار گرفته‌است. این محل پس از بررسی و مطالعه ۱۷ نقطه مختلف شهر تهران توسط یک گروه شامل تیم شهرسازی، تیم مطالعات تلویزیون، مخابرات، راه و ساختمان، اقتصادی، معماری، هواشناسی، تیم مطالعات ترافیک و تیم ژئوتکنیک برگزیده شده‌است.

این برج سازه‌ای است بتنی با کاربردهای متنوع، ۴۳۵ متر از سطح زمینهای مجاور ارتفاع دارد که ۳۱۵ متر از آن مربوط به شفت بتنی و ۱۲۰ متر دیگر مربوط به آنتن برج است. وزن برج میلاد ۱۶۱٬۰۰۰ تُن و زیربنای آن ۵٫۵ برابر یک زمین فوتبال است. پایهٔ اصلی برج بتن آرمه است. ارتفاع آن ۳۱۵ متر از روی زمین‌طبیعی با مقطع حجره‌ای (سلولار) است. حدود ۳۳۰۰۰ متر مکعب بتن در آن مصرف شده‌است. این بدنه شامل هسته مرکزی و چهار عدد باله‌است.

درون هسته مرکزی ۳ حجره به آسانسورها و یک حجره به راه پله اضطراری اختصاص یافته‌است. باله در تراز صفر برج به‌صورت ذوزنقه در چهار طرف قرار دارد و تا ارتفاع ۲۴۰ متری به‌صورت هرمی شکل کاهش مقطع دارد. هسته مرکز از این تراز به تنهایی تا ۳۱۵ متر ادامه می‌یابد. از تراز ۲۴۵ تا ۳۱۵ متر سازه رأس برج قرار دارد.

ساختمان رأس برج میلاد مجموعه‌ای از ۱۲ طبقه با کاربردهای مختلف در طبقات است. این ساختمان پس از اجرای بدنه اصلی برج تا تراز ۳۱۵+ ساخته و در بالای بدنه اصلی نصب می‌شود. قسمت مرکزی سازه رأس برج بتنی است که قبلاً در امتداد بدنه اصلی برج و از تراز ۲۴۷+ تا ۳۱۵+ اجرا شده‌است. سه طبقه تأسیساتی به ترتیب در ترازهای مختلف وجود دارد که مساحت هر طبقه ۷۰ متر مربع است. سازه فلزی رأس به دو قسمت عمده شامل سبد فلزی و قسمت فوقانی تقسیم می‌شود. منبع: ویکی پدیا
