Low Tide Along the Normandy Shore - a photo on Flickriver

            This was also taken in Port-en-Bessin-Huppain, like some earlier pictures, but this time, it was taken facing away from the harbor—toward the cliffs stretching along the Normandy coast.

At low tide, the rocky seabed is fully exposed, drawing locals and visitors alike to explore the shoreline. Families wade through shallow pools, picking their way across the seaweed and stones. It’s quiet, ordinary, and somehow timeless.

Hard to imagine that just down this coastline, not far from here, the Allies landed in 1944. Today, it's just people enjoying the coast—unaware or quietly aware of the history beneath their feet.
