In India the tea culture is strong being the most popular hot beverage in the country. It is consumed daily, is offered to guests, consumed in high amounts in both domestic and official surroundings, and is made with the addition of milk and often with spices, and is usually sweetened. It is sometimes served with biscuits (cookies) to be dipped in the tea and eaten before consuming the tea.

Clicked at Munnar where tea is extensively grown due to favourable conditions. In fact the Kolukkumalai tea plantations, which are about 32 kms. from Munnar in the neighbouring  state of Tamil Nadu, are known to be the highest in the world, sitting about 7130 feet above the sea level.
