Chiloe wigeon - a photo on Flickriver

            I popped over to the hide at Catcott Lows today as I wanted to have my lunch 'outdoors', but not too 'outdoors' in the current weather! There wasn't a lot to see in the wind - 15 cattle egrets over towards the Heath but they never came close. The highlight was this handsome chap which dropped in for the briefest of visits. I'd heard the name "Chiloe wigeon" mentioned before as an occasional visitor but TBH having never seen it I didn't actually realise what it was.
