HSL 186 382-8 @ Boortmeerbeek - a photo on Flickriver

De stek in het veld te Boortmeerbeek beviel ons wel. We kregen er trouwens twee goederentreinen te zien. De eerste, eentje van Lineas kwam nog in de zon door (maar met een stakende autofocus op mijn fototoestel) maar de HSL kwam jammer genoeg twee minuten te laat voor vol zonlicht.

Gelukkig was het (kwart) resterende licht wel voldoende om alsnog een degelijke foto maken ([M] weliswaar geholpen door Lightroom en Photoshop met een dubbele ontwikkeling van de foto om de lucht donkerder te krijgen). Deze locomotief zie je niet elke dag hé!

Ik nam afscheid van mijn kompanen en reed nog even langs Hever om er vast te stellen dat de berm wel degelijk gesnoeid was en ook in de hoop op nog een zonnige foto van een goederentrein. Ook hier stond ik trouwens niet alleen...
Ondanks het feit dat er nog een aantal opklaringen in de lucht waren, vielen die niet samen met de passage van cargo. Ik besloot dan maar om huiswaarts te keren, waar ik na aankomst nog getrakteerd werd op een flinke regenzone. Het weerbericht met 8u voorspelde zonneschijn zat er dus wel volledig naast...

Dat zou beteren tijdens de herfstvakantie maar die uiterst zonnige dagen bracht ik met de familie aan zee door. Hopelijk had de rest van november nog wat meer in petto zodanig dat ik er nog eens op uit kon voor treinen in herfstkleurige bossen, al ben ik nu bepaald wel tevreden met de paar uurtjes die ik langs lijn 53 doorgebracht heb.

It was pretty nice to wait in the field for trains: first of all we've got a Lineas mixed freight train in bright sunlight (but with a striking autofocus on my camera) and then it was only a couple of minutes before the HSL showed up... together with the first clouds of the next bank.

So we only got a quart of sunlight on this beautiful locomotive but still enough to make a decent picture thanks to Lightroom and Photoshop ;-)

After having taken this picture, I decided to go back home, although not without another stop in Hever. Unfortunately and despite some sunny spells in the sky, the passage of a freight train never coincided with sunlight on the rails.

So nothing held me here although I cannot say that the excursion wasn't successful.

Hoping for more sunny days in November ;-)
