Standing My Ground

The owners of our guest house near to the Giant's Causeway were a great source of local knowledge for locations and the best time to visit them. I had never before heard of the Dark Hedges despite their association with Game of Thrones See Here . They informed us that during the day an endless stream of tour buses now decend on this popular attraction, an avenue of gnarly beech trees planted some 200+ years ago. We expected to be alone here when we arrived after 8pm but still found several groups of people and more annoyingly, numerous cars had had the same idea. More annoying still was that a few of the cars parked up within the avenue itself. Using a long exposure to try and make the people 'disappear' as much as possible I had already had to grab camera and tripod mid exposure a couple of times but on this occasion decided to stand my ground and hope the car racing towards me would pass safely by.
