GHOSTSIGNS FOR GERMOLENE & ARMY CLUB.

            Old painted ads for Germolene antiseptic ointment & Army Club cigarettes, in St.Johns Wood, London NW8
I'm unsure if these were always two separate ads on the same wall or the Army Club was painted over the Germolene ad.
Manufactured by Cavenders of Manchester, Army Club made history by being the first product to be advertised by neon sign in Britain. This was done with the use of a thirty-five feet long by twenty feet high display which was switched on at Picadilly Circus in 1924.
Germolene was invented in the early part of the 20th century by cough mixture tycoon Sir Henry Veno.
