Calvert Methodist Chapel Ghost - a photo on Flickriver

            An iconic building bulldozed in 1966 to make way for a ghastly flyover and a service road. Unlike some of the buildings lost for Anglia Square this one was still very much in use. The original image was taken by George Plunkett in 1936, who commented on this fascinating building as follows: "...the late Stanley Wearing, said on several occasions that although the Calvert St Chapel was simple it was of fine design, and in his opinion should be grouped with the Old Meeting House in Colegate and the nearby Octagon Chapel as a “trio of distinctive historic churches of non-conformity in Norwich”.
