Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua galerita fitzroyi) - 20221005-03

            Large white cockatoo with a spectacular plumed yellow crest and dark bill. In flight it often misses a wing-beat with short glides between regular flaps on broad wings. Often erects its crest immediately upon landing. Occurs in a wide variety of woodland habitats, including parks and gardens. Calls include extremely loud harsh screeches lacking any musical quality whatsoever.  (eBird)

I thought we'd be lucky to see a few cockatoos during our trip.  Well, we were lucky times a thousand!  We saw them nearly every day, often in large numbers.  This was the closest that we got to one, just above our heads as it was checking us out.  I don't know what the red on his bill is - perhaps something he ate, perhaps the result of a squabble.
