The Botanical Garden presents these flowering meadows used in the urban context. They are composed of different species and varieties of plants. Depending on their composition, they adapt to dry, stony or wet soils. This concept aims to introduce diversity that creates additional habitat for beneficial insects. These may be auxiliaries, such as ladybugs, which feed on insects that parasitize plants (aphids). This way, the use of chemical treatments for plant protection can be decreased or even stopped. As a self-regulated environment, this practice fits perfectly into the sustainable development of new urban spaces. [Panneau H10]
