Not so Gloomy (Samyang AF 18mm F2.8)

One of the great challenges of winter photography is the sheer number of grey days with flat lighting. Some people shut down their photography altogether on days like this, but the nature of my business (lens and gear review) means that I need to summon the inspiration to get out and get photos during the winter as well. In this shot I emphasized the gloom through some temperature and color tweaks rather than try to brighten the image, and I liked the end result. The tiny Samyang AF 18mm F2.8 is a great companion when out hiking (or for me yesterday, skiing) because it is small, light, while also being quite sharp.
