Tufa Splendor at Mono Lake II - a photo on Flickriver

            Milky Way panorama I took a few weeks ago at Mono Lake. I was surprised that I was the only person at South Tufa Grove this summer night, and the conditions could not have been better, though it had stormed there just a few hours earlier. Maybe that's why nobody stuck around. The tufa rocks make an interesting foreground, looking like ruins from an ancient coliseum or something. Prominent green airglow added a cool color element to the image.

This is a 13-frame panorama taken with a rented Sony a7S camera and a Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 lens at 14mm, f/2.8, ISO 8000, 25s per exposure.
