Green-veined White butterfly with unusually large spots

            The spring brood of Green-veined White (Pieris napi) is typically very lightly marked compared with the summer brood.  This female has more spots than males, but to me the spots look extraordinarily large and dark.  There is even a trace of a hindwing spot which should not be there at all.  I photographed this butterfly nectaring on Forget-me-not near Shepley in the West Yorkshire Pennines.
