Burg Petersberg in Friesach/ Petersberg Castle in Friesach

            Nach der Anzahl der vielen Burgen, die es in Friesach gibt, müsste es eigentlich im Bundesland Burgenland liegen, es liegt allerdings im Bundesland Kärnten ! 😉
Die Burg Petersberg liegt am Petersberg und ist wohl die historisch bedeutendste der Friesacher Burgen. Heute beherbergt die Burg ein Museum, eine Burgschenke sowie eine Arena für Freiluftveranstaltungen. Man sieht links die Burg mit dem Bergfried, rechts daneben die Peterskirche, ganz rechts die Friesacher Pfarrkirche und im Hintergrund das Bergmassiv des Grebenzen.

Judging by the number of castles in Friesach, it should actually be in the province of Burgenland ('Castle country'), but it is in the province of Carinthia ! 😉
Petersberg Castle is located on Petersberg and is probably the most historically significant of Friesach's castles. Today, the castle houses a museum, a castle tavern and an arena for open-air events. You can see the castle with the keep on the left, St Peter's Church on the right, Friesach Parish Church on the far right and the Grebenzen mountain massif in the background.
