I marched on Saturday for a People's Vote on Brexit. I voted to join the EU in 1975 and I voted to remain in 2016 and I was marching for a final say now. I feel strongly that the EU and our membership of it is a significant factor in European peace and an important part of European Human Rights and improving working conditions. Yes, there are problems within the EU, but anyone watching Brexit will have no doubt that there are also problems going it alone.

I am aware that these photos may not please many.  When we entered the Common Market back in 1975 I remember my mother being incandescent that I was voting to join.  And even more furious that my father voted to join.  It was a divisive topic in my family.

I respect the fact that 17.4 million people voted to leave 3.5 years ago. But I feel that the vote In / Out was only based on evidence of In, and that the terms for Out were not properly presented, considered or known.  However 16.1 million voted to remain and we do know now many of the implications of Out.  It seems fair that those who chose to leave and those who chose to remain are now given the chance to ratify their first vote or change their minds.
