Homage to Terence McKenna - a photo on Flickriver

Although the reference to American ethno-botanist Terence McKenna may be obscure, the imagery built into this piece ensures the audience has plenty tom ponder. Produced as a collaboration between Yikes and Dcypher, the realistic portrait of McKenna is surrounded by the recognisable terrain of 'Planet Yikes', with mushrooms and molecular structures intertwined with the recurring precarious architectural found throughout much of Yikes' work. The inclusion of these elements relates to McKenna's status as an advocate for the controlled use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants.
