Close Encounter - a photo on Flickriver

Close Encounter

            Wild Wapiti, Cervus canadensis, watching me standing all by myself on a narrow trail from Sunrise down to Shadow Lake, in Mt. Rainier National Park. Just after this, she sauntered calmly away through the underbrush. Map location is accurate.
Can't say I exposed well in camera for the difficult dynamic range, but managed to rescue an image for Sliders Sunday. Have to commemorate the occasion!
