Illumination

            The courtyard of the Barnes Foundation, which has been on my bucket list for more than half a century. Satisfaction! The Collection was held captive in a suburb of Philadelphia for many decades, until the dwindling endowment, passionate support, and enlightened judicial review moved it to a truly fabulous facility and location, downtown. The original cramped display rooms illustrating Barnes’s wealth, taste, and idiosyncratic theory of art have been retained in a jewel at the center of this sublime temple.
I should add that I saw this out of the corner of my eye while enjoying coffee and a cookie after the exhibit and the gift shop.  Posted it right away. Who could ask for anything more?
