The On-your-knees-MEOW - a photo on Flickriver

That looks like a decent yawn, but what little Timmy does is clearly an always the same and loud On-your-knees-MEOW.

The story behind it: Timmy has a cat flap in our patio door
which he uses without problems. At least in the outward
direction. It's more complicated going in:
At night, when I sleep, he uses it without further ado.
But during the day he sits in front of the door full of expectation which triggers the Cat-Bell motion detector, which plays inside Paulchen-Panther melody (at night, the detector is switched off). Then he waits until I come and open the door.

He looks at me expectantly and then comes the
On-your-knees-MEOW asking me to get down on my knees and to hold my head out to him so he can rub his head against it. After this ceremony, he usually marches at a brisk pace to the kitchen for the buffet. Or he jumps on the coffee table to request more cuddling ;-)

The question remains how to explain this behavior.
My guess: we know nothing about Timmy's life,
before he was seriously injured when he was about 4, came to the animal clinic, then to the animal shelter and finally to me on 9 May this year. He had no tattoo, no chip and no one asked for him at the shelter. I'm afraid he didn't have a loving home.

So now he just wants to make sure that he's here
at home and is loved.  And that's what he does with the
On-your-knee-MEOW - and of course he always gets his confirmation :-)
