Voormalig Raadhuis (1787) - a photo on Flickriver

Architect: Hendrik Verhees (1744-1813)

Tot het einde van de achttiende eeuw heeft Liempde geen raadhuis. Om te kunnen vergaderen wordt er een 'raetcamer' in een herberg gehuurd. Toch is er behoefte aan een eigen raadhuis, dat er in 1787 komt naar ontwerp van de Boxtelse architect Hendrik Verhees. Tachtig jaar later wordt het pand uitgebreid. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog is het pand door schade in slechte staat en wordt het compleet vernieuwd. Wel zijn de hoofdvorm en de voorgevel behouden. Het geheel is ontworpen volgens de bouwstijl van de Delftse School. In de rechterzijgevel is een plaquette met het gemeentewapen gemetseld.
