            Note on taxonomy: If cultivated banana taxonomy doesn't give you a headache you are probably a Vulcan.
Please disregard all articles except the main one in Wikipedia in the English language on banana cultivars, the articles are absolutely crap and look like someone sucked most of that info from his/her thumb.
As for the cultivar, it should be 'Dwarf Cavendish'. The original 'Cavendish' went the way of 'Gros Michel' in the 1950's when Panama Disease (Fusarium oxysporum) hit. You don't need to remember it; Black Sigatoka and new strains of Panama Disease are all set to wipe out 'Dwarf Cavendish' in the near future.
