This was photographed in the southeast corner of Broadway and 96th Street...

I watched the blond girl in the background for a while, hoping she would do something interesting and photo-worthy as she cavorted with her friends. But then she faded into the background, and I began looking for other interesting people in the crowd.

The blond school-boy with the lacrosse stick came into view, and he stood at the corner waiting for the light to change, and also talking with some of his friends …

And that's when I noticed that the blond girl in the background had caught sight of the lacrosse stick…

But then the traffic light changed, the boy started walking across the street, toward me, while the girl stayed where she was. So the moment was over … but I had gotten some interesting shots of the whole thing, of which this one was probably the best.
