Sarah Ann Sourbeck, known as "Annie" and "Anna," was born in March 1841 in New Cumberland, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Her younger brother, William Henry Harrison Sourbeck, known as "Harry," was born 11 August, 1845, in Harrisburgh, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. They were the children of Sarah Ann Collier and her second husband John Sourbeck (1786-1847).
