Covid_19 Quarantine Casualty / Fiftieth College Reunion / Nothing to Remember / Little to Forget / Fade to Grey

            Drab non-reminder of a non-event that never happened.

Covid-19 quarantine caused my fiftieth college reunion to be canceled and replaced with a "virtual event". 

Didn't actually graduate with the rest of the class 50 years ago. Held out another 2 years and then did not attend commencement. Went for a driving test instead. After the test went to campus to pose in a borrowed cap and gown -- the photos were ruined in processing.

Was not planning to attend the reunion even if it happened - did not recognize many names on the "yes list" (actually knew more on the "dead list"). The yearbook didn't help either -- had almost no relation to my experience. The last month of classes were cancelled in a protest over something or other - most students left campus early.

"Social Distancing" was almost universal - there was almost no social activity to be excluded from. "Bright college days" was a myth -- more students committed suicide than dropped out. I did neither, instead "withdrawing" working 13 years. and then using the transferred credits towards another degree elsewhere.

Added May 2022: after a 2 year delay the event may actually happen this month. More classmates are dead than are planning to attend.
