Cream Drops Set-Up

This is the set-up I used for the cream drop pics. I like the flash guns at a slight angle to the side because it gives it a bit more of a 3D feel and reduces flash glare on the aquarium. I use a cable release to trip the shutter, which leaves only one hand free for dropping the cream in the water. Tonight I made an alteration to the shutter button by sticking a rounded piece of plastic on the button so that I could use it as a type of foot pedal which gave me an extra hand. The tricky part is the coordination ;-) There is a small mark on the bottom of the tank and I use this to line it up with a small dot I put on the table. This eliminates having to refocus each time you clean out the tank.
Use a mixture of drops and squirts.
