This is basically the way I do the colored milk splashes.
It doesn't show very well, but that flash suspended above the splash area is hooked up to the ceiling with a length of stovepipe wire.
I left this in large size.
You can see there is a red gel on the flash on the right, a blue on the left and a yellow above. Other times I will use a bit of yellow dye in the milk and then use blue from above, and red and green on the sides. This is how most of my colored milk shots are done and also the crown shots. Only the containers are different. I use black glass for the crowns. This is also how my multiple shots are done, only in a wide glass container.
