Natalie Jones-Higgenbottom, Clarence, and Lil' Bub

            Lil' Bub is a homemade speeder that started life as a 1974 Vespa Rally 200 motor scooter that Natalie Jones-Higgenbottom found in her great-grandfather Henry Jones Jr's barn where it had sat since approximately 1981. 85 years later it was pulled out and a Honda BX1000 hover drive system was mated to the scooter frame and it was christened Lil' Bub. Natalie drove Lil' Bub this way throughout her entire time at the University of Nottingham. As she embarked on her archeological career, the hybrid scooter sat in storage for another 5 years. Then, Natalie decided to enter the Vastland Cross speeder race, so Lil' Bub was brought out of storage and a war-surplus General Magnatronics XF3700 turbine drive was adapted to the old Honda BX running gear, thus beginning Lil' Bub's new life as a racer. Lil Bub isn't pretty and handles like an ancient Vespa, but one thing Lil Bub IS, is FAST. Fast enough to leave all but the most high-performance modern machines eating a massive cloud of dust. Bub and Natalie are accompanied on the race by Nat's chihuahua Clarence, who has been around the world no less than four times with Nat over the last few years.

This is my entry for the Vastland Cross part of the LSB 2017 contest. I had a lot of fun building this one, its obviously over-the-top to a degree but every time I look at it I can't help but smile a little. I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I do! More entries to come
