Whitsunday Island - Whitehaven Beach

            Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. With a quartz content of 99% one of the whitest beaches in the world. So it is said in various sources. 

I didn't want to believe it at first. Too often I read holiday reports from other places that claim the same. Then I notice something else on the spot. Overlit beach photos also suggest such beaches in holiday catalogues. 

Here the descriptions correspond to the rality. Absolutely white sand. Fine like powdered sugar. The sand is so fine that it squeaks under your feet when you walk. We spent only one hour on this natural wonder. Definitely too little time.
