Basset's Cove, Cornwall - a photo on Flickriver

            Only 5 miles from home but I'd never stopped at this spot until today.  Basset's Cove sits beneath the windy North Cliffs on the North Cornwall Coast between Portreath and Godrevy.  In the distance, Godrevy Lighthouse can be just about made out between the two huge foreground rocks that were being battered by the Atlantic winds.  

Even though I stayed firmly on the path in the strong winds I was blown off my feet twice during the half mile walk from the car park to this spot.  Fortunately the wind was blowing inland so all that was hurt was my dignity.  A reminder though that these places are extremely dangerous in high winds, and are to be treated with respect.  

Somehow I managed to get a couple of shots on the tripod, trying to catch the 2 second exposure frothing seas below me.  November in Cornwall is always a challenge!
