River Thames Sunset (explored 23/04/19)

            Family holidays are often viewed as a recipe for disaster, especially those in large groups.  But we seem to be lucky.  My 26 year old son's boisterous evening bonhomie aside, our assembly of 3 generations for a week on the Thames in 2 narrow boats passed extremely successfully.  

We're mostly pretty much agreed that modern life is insanely crazy and rushes by at a reckless pace.  A couple of hours before this serene moment we passed under the noisy A34 which runs along the outskirts of Oxford, cars whizzing over us at 70mph while our own speed limit was one fourteenth of that figure.  Two worlds colliding and then diverging - they may as well have been two separate universes.  The next day I drove over the bridge of course, on the way home and lamenting the passing of a week communing with nature.

So this shot was taken on the banks of the Thames near Eynsham, the night before we had to return the boats to their owners.  We were very close to boatnapping them and making a 5mph dash back down the Thames to Oxford and beyond, but I suppose they'd have found us.........
