Where Are You?

Here’s another puffin shot which was actually the first one I took with my tele lens. When we arrived at Dyrhólaey, we noticed people gathering around the cliff edge and soon we knew that puffins were the reason. I first took some shots with my standard zoom lens like my previous upload It’s Time to Leave, but in order to not have to crop in post I quickly changed lenses. As soon as I had my tele lens on, I noticed a puffin that was looking over it’s shoulder or better wing and since its body contour was perfectly mimicking the ridge edge I quickly pressed the shutter before the puffin decided to fly off. Since I had to hurry and didn’t have time to compose the shot carefully, I now still had to crop quite a bit. Nevertheless, I really like this composition and I hope you like it too!

PS: To me it looks like the puffin is looking for its mate (these cuties are actually monogamous) and hence the title.
