The Future Has Arrived - a photo on Flickriver

            Running over 9 hours late, Amtrak's eastbound Empire Builder finally makes its stop at St Cloud.

On the point of this particular Empire Builder are two Siemens ALC-42s, which are making their maiden voyage, beginning a new era for Amtrak.

This maiden voyage was far from perfect, though. PTC issues, a fire on-board one of the Superliners, and a collision with a vehicle at a crossing all plagued the maiden voyage. Not sure Titanic had this many issues.

Still, the ALC-42s and their P42DC counterparts trudged on and relentlessly continued their way to finish the trip.

Sharp eyes might notice some dents and scratches on 302, which hit the vehicle out west of Spokane.

Though 301 was planned to be on point, I'm grateful that both were leading on their maiden run.

Pointless arrows abound between the 3 commemorative locomotives and the station building.
