            A nicely matched set of BNSF four axle standard cab locomotives lead a northbound transfer through the curves and past the classic brick buildings at Old Union Depot Interlocking in Kansas City Missouri’s West Bottoms. September 13, 2018. Ahead lies “the gooseneck”, a short stretch of sharp curves along the river bluffs followed by the Hannibal Bridge crossing of the Missouri River and finally arrival at the former BN, (ex CB&Q) Murray Yard in North Kansas City.

All sporting fresh paint, today’s train is led by GP39-2R 2664 (ex BNSF 2589, ex ATSF 2889, ex ATSF 3389, built as Santa Fe GP35 1389 in June, 1965). Trailing behind are BNSF GP39M 2888, (ex BN GP39M 2888, ex SSW 764 built as a GP35 in December 1964) followed by BNSF GP39-3 2559, (ex BNSF GP38AC 2111, ex BN 2111, ex SL-SF 634 built in February, 1971) and at the rear of the consist, BNSF GP39-2 2777, (ex ATSF 3408, ex ATSF 3634 built in February, 1975).
