Vistula Legion Lancers - a photo on Flickriver

            The Vistula Legion consisted primarily of Polish troops in French service during the Napoleonic Wars. During the Battle of Albuera in 1811, the 1st Vistula Lancer Regiment (together with the French 2nd Hussars) inflicted heavy casualties on a British Brigade of Foot, almost destroying three regiments with only a forth regiment being able to successfully form into squares. 

Another Uhlan vignette. I'm trying for some more dynamic poses with this one (as much as it hurt to see redcoats on the receiving end!).
