Lothian 856 and the characters from Kidnapped at Western Corner, Edinburgh.

            856, in its 2017 tartan livery supporting MacMillan Cancer Support, leaves the stop at Western Corner on Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh. Service 31 operates from East Craigs via the city centre to Bonnyrigg, south of the city. The vehicle is passing the memorial to Robert Louis Stevenson (born Edinburgh 1850) and features two of the characters from his 1886 novel, Kidnapped. The sculpture by Alexander Stoddart is of David Balfour and Alan Breck Stewart who, in the book, part company on nearby Corstorphine Hill. The work of art was unveiled in September 2004 by another Edinburgh native, Sir Sean Connery.
