DSP09435 - Green Woodpecker ♀ (Picus viridis)

            The largest of the woodpecker species found in the UK. Its loud laughing call is behind the affectionate folk name of 'yaffle'.
A very cautious and wary bird which can be quite difficult to approach and often fly off before you get remotely close, so always a challenge !
