Mallard Marsh WPA Predawn 5.3 - a photo on Flickriver

I had found this location on a previous trip through this area and thought this would make a good sunrise setup. I arrived much earlier than anticipated. It was very dark yet, so I started the session with some experimental light painting on the stumps, taking photos every few minutes until sunup. Venus was showing brightly, and a surprise bonus was maybe a touch of aurora in the Northeast. The light painted photo will be added to Flickr in the future along with a couple more from this photo session.
