Unidentified seed head.
On the flats below the last of the Yambarran Range. In the far distance to the left is Mosquito Flat, and beyond that, the Victoria River. We stopped here for Earle to inspect another possible candidate place for Fred Bradshaw's tomb and hence another candidate place for the very first Bradshaw homestead.

From Tony Rodd:
"Margaret, I have racked my brain over that one, with no result. It's not a grass, it's a dicot and I am pretty certain it must fall into one of the families Lythraceae or Onagraceae, more likely the first. But I can't find anything with capsules as long as that, at least not among the resources I have available -- and that includes Flora of Australia vol 18, which covers both those families."

Not far from here, near a Boab, we saw Hyptis suaveolens, mint weed, which is a major weed and which I failed to photograph.
