a good morning...

            
We heard a commotion from about 6:30 a.m. .... with crows and magpies going berserk;  at first quite a distance away, but moving ever closer.
Finally at about 7 am... they sounded right outside and... sure enough they were!
They were on the wires in the alleyway, so I kept my eyes peeled...... and a moment later a bobcat wandered around the fence and into the backyard.  He only looked around for a second or two, then turned, and was gone.  Out and across the driveway and up towards the front of the house.
He crossed the road and went under a big spruce tree in a neighbour's yard.  Hung out where I couldn't see him for about 10 minutes...but, the birds never did let up.
They dived and swooped and shrieked.... he finally appeared once again and sauntered across the driveway over there and across another front porch and deck and up and over a fence to another neighbour's back yard.  Where we've seen them previously and usually they have kittens in that yard most years. 
 
I'm glad he finally turned so I could get a shot of his face.  This is the first one I've seen with sort of tufty fur around his face ... usually they are pretty sleek looking.
I'm saying it's a "he" ... because in one photo from the rear I think I do notice a small round fuzziness that is a tell tale sign.....

That was a fun morning......
