El castillo de los Templarios en Ponferrada. León. España.

            Su situación estratégica a orillas del río SIL, ha sido aprovechada a lo largo de la historia, desde la primera edad del Hierro, por diferentes pobladores.
En 1178, los caballeros Templarios llegan al castillo con el fín de proteger el Camino de Santiago. Lo amplían y refuerzan, permaneciendo en él, hasta la disolución de la Orden del temple, en 1312.
Este castillo es Monumento Nacional  y Bien de Interés Cultural.
