CN 3045 + CN 2808 Hinton 12. června 2018

            Jen několik set metrů před kanadským městečkem Hinton překonává trať Canadian National hluboké údolí říčky Maskuta Creek po ocelovém viaduktu. Po mostě právě projíždí více než kilometr dlouhý kontejnerový vlak směřující z tichomořského přístavu Vancouver do Edmontonu.

V čele vlaku je dvojice lokomotiv CN 3045 (GE ET44AC) a CN 2808 (GE ES44AC) ze série Evolution Series, kterou vyrábí General Electric pro severoamerické železnice. Lokomotiva typu ES44AC je vybavena střídavým přenosem výkonu, kdy každé dvojkolí pohání samostatný asynchronní trakční motor. Novější verze ET44AC navazuje na tento koncept a současně splňuje přísnější emisní normy EPA Tier 4.

Snímek tak spojuje technicky zajímavou železniční techniku s malebnou krajinou Alberty, kde železnice tvoří důležitou dopravní tepnu mezi Tichým oceánem a vnitrozemím Kanady.
