Promenade sur l'eau - a photo on Flickriver

            "Les herbiers marins et les récifs coralliens jouent un rôle vital dans l’équilibre des écosystèmes des zones côtières en absorbant le dioxyde de carbone, en filtrant les polluants, en protégeant les rives des inondations et des tempêtes, en prévenant l’érosion des sols et en fournissant un habitat et une aire de reproduction pour la vie marine."

En 2019, huit communautés de pêcheurs des districts de Trapaing Sangke, Kampong Samaky, Trapaing Ropov, Prek Tnort, Kep Thmey, Toteung Thngai, Koh Kroesna et Lok, des organisations de la société civile et les autorités provinciales de Kampot ont déclaré qu’elles allieraient leurs efforts pour remédier à la perte de la mangrove du Cambodge. 
Une campagne ambitieuse de plantation de 100 000 arbres de mangrove près des côtes de la province de Kampot a été lancée. L’objectif annoncé est de restaurer le couvert forestier de mangrove perdu dans le pays et d’aider à améliorer les perspectives des communautés de pêcheurs côtiers.
