Missed by that much - a photo on Flickriver

            Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3) Every now and then, one of the comets from the Kuiper Belt / the Oort Cloud approaches the Sun. Then spectacular things start to happen.  Sun’s heat turns some of the ice into gas and a huge cloud of released dust envelops the comet. This is called the ‘coma’ and is seen from Earth as a fuzzy blob. The other part of the spectacle is the tail, which always points away from the Sun due to it gravitational pull to the sun.
