Amami Island: looking down at the sea

            From Kouchiyama. a mountain in Amami Oshima, Japan, we looked at Oshima Strait and Kakeroma Island.

Amami Oshima, the largest island among Amami Islands, was listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site together with other southwest islands of Japan in 2021.  A variety of endemic animals live in these islands
