            Tribute to Astronaut and Commander Jim Lovell (97) who passed away on 7 Aug 25:  

Cdr. Lovell was a brave soul and leader.  As with many astronauts of his era, he had humble beginnings. He was the only child of a furnace salesman who died from a car accident when Jim was five. Difficult years followed for his Mother and him. He was a USNA graduate with a mechanical engineering degree, a naval aviator, test pilot, astronaut on four missions, commander of Apollo 13, orbiter of the Moon, and more....
