            In the valley of the Lozoya River is Rascafría, a beautiful mountain town that serves as a starting point for many routes and excursions through this beautiful area of the Sierra de Guadarrama in the Community of Madrid, the Artiñuelo stream crosses the town.

The route to the dam of the Artiñuelo stream is ideal to do at any time of the year, although the best time may be autumn, because you walk through the thicket of an extensive oak grove that stains ocher and yellow the road to to reach the dam, in summer, it can be done perfectly since the creek gives freshness and the oaks a good shade, in winter it is very likely that everything is snowy and you have to walk with crampons.

En pleno valle del río Lozoya se encuentra Rascafría, un bonito pueblo serrano que sirve de partida para multitud de rutas y excursiones por esta bonita zona de la Sierra de Guadarrama en la Comunidad de Madrid, el arroyo Artiñuelo cruza la localidad.

La ruta a la presa del arroyo Artiñuelo es ideal para hacer en cualquier época del año, aunque el mejor momento quizás sea el otoño, debido a que se camina a través de la espesura de un extenso robledal que tiñe de ocres y amarillos el camino hasta llegar a la presa, en verano, se puede hacer perfectamente ya que el arroyo da frescura y los robles buena sombra, en invierno es muy probable que esté todo nevado y haya que caminar con crampones.
