            The First Ducklings

Another cold night followed by a sunny day so a walk along a different bit of canal. A Reed Warbler was seen along with a number of Reed Buntings but these Mallard ducklings took first place, at least until I had scone with cream and jam. These are the first I have seen this year and there were 10 of them although one was going away from its mother a little bit too quickly.
