Sunset on the Narrow Neck Plateau - a photo on Flickriver

            The Narrow Neck Plateau is in the Blue Mountains National Park in New South Wales, Australia. It snakes through this photo from left to right and then left again. In the distance on the left is Mount Solitary. The scene still shows some signs of the Black Summer fires that tore through this area in 2019-20, but in general the vegetation is recovering well.

I clambered up on to the large rock on the right of this photo planning to look for a composition facing the setting sun. After scrambling up and around the rock for a while, though, I decided on the composition in this photo, with the sun out of frame to the right, and the last of its rays visible on the Narrow Neck Plateau and the pagoda-like rock formations on the left. I used a focus stack to get everything in focus.
